Collection of Personal Information
To use the features in this membership area, you must first complete an online registration form. During this process you will be required to submit your contact information such as your name and e-mail address if we do not already have it. This information will be used for billing and invoicing purposes by OFO only. We will not sell or share this personal information in any way to any outside party. Access to personal information is restricted to members (if the 'View on Member List' option box is checked in the member's profile) and to officials of OFO who may require the information to perform a specific job function. Please note that members who can "see" you can only send you an email - they do not get to see what your email address actually is.
Security Measures
This site has security measures in place designed to protect information as it is gathered online and afterwards. For example, when a form requires the input of sensitive information such as your personal information or credit card number, this information is encrypted. Confidential personal information sent to us is transmitted using a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This information is encrypted during transmission and entered in our secure database. The database and all user registration information is further protected behind a firewall.
Credit Card Security
Credit card transactions made through our payment gateway are secure. Credit card numbers are encrypted before transmission to the Paypal credit card authorization service; if the purchase is authorized, the order is processed through our registration software. No one on the site, including OFO Board Members dealing with memberships, can view or receive credit card numbers.
Despite the high level of security, some members may still be uncomfortable with online financial transactions. For them we provide downloadable, printable forms on the main site, which can be mailed or faxed and we offer in this Membership area the option to pay later via cheque through regular mail.
